Hello, Hacker News Seattle Meetup member! This is Zac, your fearless leader.
When I started the meetup, I knew there was one thing that was more important than anything - keeping the quality of attendees high.
The group has grown to 1100+ members (as of writing this message), and that's almost entirely by word of mouth. Awesome people inviting other awesome people. Since you are awesome, that also means you tend to be fairly busy, so I've only ever sent messages to you that were related to the Meetup (no one likes an inbox full of emails that you didn't ask for!)
But... that means there are some opportunities that I haven't sent to you. I didn't want to clutter your inbox, but now I realize that you probably want to hear about other awesome things too.
This newsletter is for hackers, entrepreneurs, designers, and anyone interested in the tech space who wants to hear about things other than just the Hacker News Seattle meetup announcements.
This will be things like announcements about other meetups, free/discounted invites to events, or the launch of a new startup. It could be a survey from a company who wants feedback from people whose opinions they trust, or other things that no one has pitched me yet.
The one rule is this: Anything that I send out to this list is something I think is worth telling you guys about. If I don't think the product/service/meetup/event/survey/whatever is as awesome as you, I'm not going to send it to you. I don't want to waste your time.
